Our feature this weekend is a Montana New York strip with smoked tomato and scallion butter, cambozola whipped potatoes, roasted butternut squash and green beans, vanilla-balsamic reduction and sunflower sprouts. We chose to pair the Amapola Creek Zinfandel from the Monte Rosso Vineyard in Sonoma, California. With a complex nose of baked plum, blueberry compote, black raspberry, fallen leaves and spice box this full bodied wine continues to open in the glass. Spicy red berry preserves and layers of earth and toasted anise rest on the chewy tannins which provides a long finish.
